To assist us in designing and implementing gameplay and collaborating closely alongside artists, programmers, designers, and producers on our games, MachineGames is seeking a top-notch Lead Gameplay Programmer.
A smart and enthusiastic group of programmers, some of whom have worked with the corporation since its founding in 2010, make up the gaming team. You will answer straight to our CTO in this position. MachineGames is situated in the heart of Uppsala, Sweden, a bustling, compact city just forty miles north of the country's capital, Stockholm. Its history dates all the way through pre-medieval times. With the opportunity to work at our headquarters in Uppsala or our satellite headquarters in Sundsvall, Sweden, this is a permanent role that will begin as soon as possible.
The job is onsite, however there is also the possibility of working in a hybrid role. If you are not presently residing in Sweden and/or hold a non-EU passport, we will assist you with your relocation and/or work permit application.
Responsibilities:
Be aware Team members are supported, encouraged, and mentored by the gameplay team.
Strike a balance between listening, encouraging, teaching, and challenging in order to effectively lead others.
Strive to keep the atmosphere inside the team as well as between other teams cooperative, professional, and cordial—always in line with the Studio principles.
Together the company's CTO and any additional department leads, establish the framework and guidelines for Machine Games' development of the games and technology.
With an eye on a high-quality end-user experience, design and develop C/C++ features that are efficient with CPU, GPU, and memory.
Together with the CTO, keep an eye on coding best practices at all times; provide suggestions and push for changes as needed.
Qualifications:
At least one shipped title with at least five years of professional or similar expertise where accredited as the lead programmer or comparable.
Possess proven leadership and mentorship skills, even if not in a managerial capacity.
Has a track record of effectively working with people from various departments and seniority levels.
Own a great deal of expertise in game development, concentrating on gameplay programming, Have led feature development for multiple game components, showcasing and utilising strong C++ problem-solving and debugging abilities.
Recognise the vast array of components that comprise a contemporary video game and demonstrate the ability to perform tasks on your own.
Outstanding English communication abilities, both in writing and speaking.
Collaborative team player who is self-driven and has a strong work ethic.
Enthusiasm for creating AMAZING games.
